Weequahic Lake Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Swans, geese, and a variety of ducks grace this quiet lake in the middle of a highly urbanized area for a peaceful getaway if you live nearby. Weequahic Park (pronounced WEE qua) is a welcome respite in the midst of a highly industrialized and urban area. The park offers an 80-acre lake, multiuse trails, playing fields, playground, clean restrooms, and shady picnic areas. For paddlers living in the surrounding highly developed areas, it offers the opportunity to get on the water after work for an hour or two of peace and relaxation or spend a weekend morning on nearby waters. The lake is dredged and cleaned every few years, ensuring good water quality. Water levels here remain constant, even in the driest of years, because the lake is fed by springs instead of being a dammed section of a river like most lakes."
