Timberline Lake Camping Resort Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Although you will encounter no shortage of RVs at Timberline Lake, the campground is ideally located in the New Jersey Pinelands. The waterfront is beautiful, the proprietors are very friendly, and the tent camping isn’t bad either. This is a great place to visit with kids as well as dogs. Fifteen tent sites with no hookups are located in the woods surrounding three sides of a large recreation field. These sites are wooded, secure, and isolated from the denser RV area. Most sites are open to the other tent sites and to the field, but the woods provide a buffer between campers and the activity section of the campground.
A trail connects the tenting area to the activity area, and a short gravel road leads to the office and bathhouse. The tent area itself is considered primitive, with portable toilets and no water faucets. Water must be carried in from the office area. A large additional tent site, referred to as the Pit, is located farther back in the woods from the other tent sites. It is suitable for up to 12 adults and is a favorite when several families choose to camp together."
