Lake Absegami Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Lake Absegami lies in the northwest corner of the Bass River State Forest at the southern end of Burlington County. The 67-acre body of water offers cedar swamps, bogs, and pine and mixed-oak forests surrounding the tea-colored waters typical of the Pine Barrens. Large coves will provide hours of exploring as you discover something new around each bend.
Warblers, blue jays, cardinals, kingbirds, eastern pee-wees, and other songbirds add to the nature experience. While you’re there, take advantage of camping in a tent, a lean-to, or a trailer within the pine-scented woodlands. The park also rents rustic cabins, a few of which are lakeside. Schedule your trip around a full moon cycle to enjoy a pleasant moonlight paddle before retiring. Playgrounds are located at the swimming beach and within the camping area."
