Harthshorne Woods Park: Buttermilk Valley Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Families hiking the trail system within Hartshorne Woods Park for the first time are usually surprised by the steep overlooks, sloping valleys, and dense, dry, upland forest in the heart of New Jersey’s coastal plain.
If you hear a series of loud, sharp noises, it’s probably an osprey. Also called a fish hawk, it plunges feet first into the water for its meal. Osprey have an impressive 4-to 6-foot wingspan, a brown body, and a broad black cheek patch across its white face."
