Pequannock Watershed Buckabear Pond Trail

Pequannock Watershed: Buckabear Pond Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Early afternoon is the best time to enjoy exquisite views of Clinton Reservoir and the final destination, Buckabear Pond. Don’t be afraid to hike this trail in the winter when the slightest breeze pushes thin layers of ice toward the shore, creating melodious sounds.

Attractions, in addition to a refreshing hike through a variety of trees, include an abundance of birds, lush mountain laurel, flowing brooks, and evidence of beaver activity. Wear sturdy shoes to avoid stubbing your toes on this extremely rocky trail. A tree identification book will enhance your hike, especially in the winter when the trees have lost their leaves."
