Prospertown Lake Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Enjoy waterfowl and numerous coves to explore on this lake in the northern Pine Barrens. You’ll have an enjoyable paddle at this remote yet easily accessible lake surrounded by the Prospertown Wildlife Management Area. Neither gas nor electric motors are permitted. These waters rarely become crowded, even on the hottest summer weekend. A narrow stretch of open sandy beach near the launch can get a bit busy at dusk, when local anglers come to try their luck from shore for an hour or two. Bass, catfish, pickerel, sunfish, and crappie are the sought-after species. While the water depth average is only 4 feet, there are depths to about 21 feet found closer to the side opposite the launch. The only downside to this lake is the sight of the tops of a few rides at Six Flags Great Adventure Park situated next to the lake on the northeast corner."
