Assunpink, Stone Tavern, and Rising Sun Lakes

Assunpink, Stone Tavern, and Rising Sun Lakes Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Get out here and paddle! More than 5,000 acres of Wildlife Management Area surround three beautiful lakes: 225-acre Lake Assunpink, 52-acre Stone Tavern Lake, and 38-acre Rising Sun Lake. Each lake has its own character, its own special charm. With its large size and numerous coves and inlets, Lake Assunpink offers more hours of paddling pleasure.

Although never very crowded, anglers frequent this lake on summer weekends looking for bass and pickerel. Sweetgum, pine, red maple, and oak dominate the surrounding woods behind a screen of cattails, Phragmites, mulberry bushes, and joe-pye weed bordering the lakes."

Nice area to many hunters though. I like the WMA for practicing my bow and shotgun.
