High Point Duet Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"High Point State Park lies in the heart of blackbear country. Don’t fret too much about that, though, as you are far more likely to encounter birds and butterflies on this rough-cut loop than any ill-tempered Smokey. There are also views galore from along the Appalachian Trail, access to a secluded lake on the back half of the hike, and a profusion of wildflowers throughout the spring.
The aptly named park achieves an elevation of 1,803 feet atop High Point Monument, making it the Garden State's tallest peak. The 360-degree panorama there extends to the Delaware River and the hills of Pennsylvania, the Catskill Mountains, and the fertile farmlands of northwestern Jersey."
