Appalachian Trail is a hiking trail in New York and New Jersey. It is within Dryden Kuser Natural Area and High Point State Park. It is 27.2 miles long and begins at 387 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 24.6 miles with a total elevation gain of 5,510 feet. Near the trailhead there is parking. The High Point Shelter and Pochuck Mountain Shelter and the Baldwin Pit & Plant quarry can be seen along the trail. There are also viewpoints, scrubs, a recreation ground, and woods along the trail. This trail connects with the following: Rutherford Shelter Trail (Blue), Iris Trail (Red) / Yellow Trail, Mashipacong Trail (Yellow), Iris Trail (Red), Blue Dot Trail, Blue Trail / Iris Trail (Red) and Monument Trail.
