Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Long Beach Island, or LBI as it is usually called, is an 18-mile barrier island on the southern coast of New Jersey. Its beautiful beaches and resort communities make it a popular vacation destination during the summer months. LBI is very bike friendly and a fun place to ride, especially if you like the smell of salt air. This ride takes you around the island and shows you the main sights.

Terrain: Very flat. You are basically riding on a sandbar that is barely above sea level. Traffic and hazards: This can be a very busy area, especially on summer weekends. This ride is best done in the off-season or on weekdays in summer. If you do ride this route on a summer weekend, try and get out early. The roads lanes are more like a multiuse path and can be filled with people walking, jogging, or skating during summer weekends."
