Manasquan Reservoir Professional Review and Guide
"Look for waterfowl, songbirds, ospreys, bald eagles, and hawks at this large reservoir. The 720-acre Manasquan Reservoir is set within a 1,204 acre park and offers hours of paddling. Outboard (electric only), kayak, and canoe rentals are available on the lower level of the visitor center next to the boat ramp. The upper level of the visitor center houses a food concession, operated only during summer months, as well as a few environmental displays and an observation deck. Horseback riding is available. Artifacts found around the area indicate that the Lenape once inhabited the area. Manasquan in Lenape means “stream of the island of women.” Fishing is excellent, particularly for crappies, bass, trout, hybrid striped bass, and muskie."
