Corbin City Impoundments Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Get ready for great birding and remote, peaceful paddling. Impoundments, similar to shallow reservoirs, are large dammed areas creating basins to collect and confine waters. Three large impoundments, ranging from 104 to 284 acres, lie within the Lester G. MacNamara Wildlife Management Area not far from the Great Egg Harbor River.
All offer spectacular scenery typical of lands bordering brackish marshes, where lowland woods stand behind the water-loving plants that frame creeks and ponds. Here you will find a mix of flora and fauna from freshwater and saltwater environments: hawks, muskrats, deer, fox, shorebirds, osprey, egrets, kingfishers, warblers, and numerous species of songbirds."
