Pisgah Reservoir

Pisgah Reservoir Professional Review and Guide

"Hidden deep in the hills of 13,000-acre Pisgah State Park in the south-western corner of New Hampshire, Pisgah Reservoir remains one ofthe most remote bodies of water included in this book. With a light, 40-pound canoe, the hike in takes about 20 minutes. If you have a heavy boat, or one without a good portage yoke, plan on frequent rests.

While paddling this pristine mountain lake with a backdrop of forested hillsides you should see ducks and perhaps deer. Getting there requires a steep half-mile 30-minute hike."

Hike in over partially paved road was steep and not much fun with a canoe. The lake itself is nice although many parts are very full of lily pads and other pond weeds.
