Even though the first falls are definitely a gorgeous sight we found that the rocky gurgling brook with abundant moss-covered rocks made for a peacefully beautiful hike. At some point the brook opens up into a large flooded area but the wooded walk was still really pretty. Just follow the brook as the entire trail stays fairly close to the brook. It is easy to get lost on this trail because it isn't marked very well. A little farther up there is a bridge that seems to go to another trail marked with yellow (there are multiple color markings along the trail, which is kind of confusing). We stayed on the main trail and chose not to cross the bridge. Once you come to the middle falls the trail leads to a bridge with no trespassing signs beyond it. The trail there moves away from the clear-cut and the flooded area. The middle falls are not far beyond hidden in a gorge type area. The third waterfall is a little distance beyond, impressive and beautiful. This hike is also great for water loving pups. The mosquitoes are pretty awful so bring bug spray.
