Blackwater River: Route 127 to Snyder's Mill Professional Review and Guide
"The Blackwater is a small, little-known stream that offers a short, racy run between slalom gates made of summer homes. The river is dam controlled, so it is possible to know exactly how much water to expect on any one weekend. Looking at the gradient figures, one would suspect the Blackwater cannot offer much whitewater, and in places it doesn’t.
There is the flatwater, and there are the rapids, and the two are quite distinct. In the upper half of the trip, the rapids are well defined and short. In the lower half, the rapids are narrow, technical, fast, and tend to blend together, forming several continuous thrillers. The Blackwater is not far from Concord, New Hampshire, and can serve as a follow-up run to the Contoocook."
