Surry Mountain Park, Beaver Lodge Trail

Surry Mountain Park, Beaver Lodge Trail Professional Review and Guide

"A forested walk leading to an active beaver pond and lodge. Surry Mountain Dam is one of sixteen United States Army Corps of Engineer’s dams built for flood control in the Connecticut River basin.

The 265-acre lake behind the dam and the surrounding wetlands are home to muskrat, otter, and mink. As the trail name suggests, you may look forward to seeing a beaver lodge, if not the beaver, which often are wary and shy."
