Rye Beach Seawall Walk

Rye Beach Seawall Walk Professional Review and Guide

"A sidewalk stroll along ocean coves in sight of the Isles of Shoals. Along the seacoast of Rye Beach are wonderful sights, sounds, and, of course, invigorating salt air smells.

A few spots to visit on the way to this walk include ever-changing Rye Harbor Marina, where working fishing crews chug in and out of the giant granite block breakwater; the small, irresistible Rye Harbor State Park jutting into the ocean; the 700-foot Wallis Sands State Beach; and the many tidewater inlets on the west side of the road. This area (which includes both tiny beach cottages and seashore mansions) retains an open, uncongested “homey” ambiance. We visit here throughout the year for Atlantic Ocean refreshers, but probably the best seasons include the pre-and post-summer weeks."
