Norsk Center/Low Plain Wildlife Area Trail Professional Review and Guide

"There are several reasons why we’re including this well-established cross-country center in New Hampshire’s mid-state region. The setting is gorgeous; forty-eight trails spread across the rolling hills and open fields of the Lake Sunapee Country Club. The 47 miles of groomed and ungroomed trails, in the shadows of 2937-foot Mount Kearsage, lead to ponds and marshes, wildlife areas and preserves. Also, when other parts of the region may be receiving early- and late-season sleet and rain, odds are that this area is getting snow.

If you have a cross-country skier in your group, this is a great place to spend the day. It’s also a good place for folks to try snowshoeing. The center rents snowshoes, and several trails are easygoing enough for beginners. An added benefit is that snowshoers (and skiers who appreciate ungroomed terrain) can hike to Esther Currier Wildlife Management Area at Low Plain, where they’ll find a spiderweb of trails around a large, active beaver pond and lowland marshes."
