Fuller Gardens Trail Professional Review and Guide
"Expertly cultivated flower gardens with antique roses, a Japanese garden koi pond, and a greenhouse conservatory of exotic tropical plants. Fuller Garden was originally a cut flower garden for Viola and Alvan Fuller for their 1920s summer estate called Runnymede-by-the-Sea. Alvan Fuller was a successful automobile dealer who later turned to politics. He became a U.S. representative from Massachusetts and later lieutenant governor and governor of Massachusetts. Runnymede-by-the-Sea has disappeared, but its exquisite gardens have thrived as a viewing garden since the 1930s. Today, a staff of professional gardeners cultivates and cares for 2,000 rosebushes in addition to a broad range of spectacular flowering plants grown for public enjoyment. Special Features: All-American rose beds, Japanese garden and koi pond, sunken garden beds and statuary, and conservatory of exotic plants."
