Peaked Mountain Trail

Peaked Mountain Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"If you’re looking for a great family- friendly day hike and a chance to see lofty mountain views, check out the Peaked Mountain Trail. As day hikes go, this one is near perfect. It’s close, off Route 16 just south of North Conway. It’s short, 4.2 miles, up and back. And, the reward-to-effort ratio is delightfully disproportionate.

The trail climbs gradually 1100 feet to the bare summit of Peaked Mountain for open views of mountains and valleys. On clear days, you might catch a glimpse of the top of Mount Washington, Peaked Mountain, along with Middle Mountain, Black Cap, and Cranmore, are within the 5022-acre Green Hills Preserve, managed by The Nature Conservancy. A variety of well-marked and interconnected trails crisscross the forest and climb the major peaks."

We traveled from PA to find snow and we were not disappointed. It was a warm day but with a strong breeze. We snowshoed the loop, going up the shorter, steeper route and coming down the longer route. Great views of Mt Washington on the way down.
