The trails around and about Tower Hill Pond give newer riders and groups with divergent talent a great spot to get the knobbies dirty. Even better, this user-friendly network of gravel service roads and rougher doubletrack is an easy reach from Manchester, New Hampshire's largest city. The loop travels around the Tower Hill Pond perimeter, providing water views from a number of vantagepoints. There are small hills to negotiate, but shallow grades and generally firm trail surfaces ease the way for the novice. For a greater challenge, explore the more difficult doubletracks that rise away from the pond, or try the extensive network of singletrack nearby at Massabesic Lake. Trail Surface: Gated service roads with loose gravel and puddles.

Tower Hill Pond Trail can be easily accessed from the railroad bed route that starts at the Massabesic Lake park in Manchester. Its a great trail with inclines and declines. The path intersects often with old logging roads and then gets smaller in parts. Great for getting out in the country yet easy to access. Tower Hill Pond trail takes you around the Lake with many small stops along the way. Get your fishing license and bring a pole to fish for a bit. Never crowded and just enough challenge to not be boring but not so much to overwhelm the medium or beginning level cyclist. You can also pick up the trail off Tower Hill Road off Old Candia Road, but I prefer to take the whole stretch from the Manchester railroad bed. Great way to spend a weekend afternoon. Many other trails are off this route as well to provide for plenty of exploring adventure. I bike this trail often and its a great way to get started and fit for the season.
