A two-night backpacking trip that crosses through the heart of the Pemi, passing over the top of two dramatic cliffs and three 4,000-footers. There are few backpacking routes in the Northeast that take you into an area as wild and as rugged as this one. The Bondcliff–Zeacliff Traverse cuts through the heart of the Pemigewasset Wilderness, yet it is not particularly difficult in terms of the footing. The first day is easy, a flat short hike to a campsite along the East Branch Pemigewasset River to accommodate a late start or to allow a side trip into Franconia Falls, one of the premier backcountry swimming holes in the Whites.
