Jackson, New Hampshire 3846

Doublehead Professional Review and Guide

"This ride's general location is Jackson. Scenery includes vistas of Jackson and the Mount Washington Valley. Wilderness that's close to civilization is a plus. Follow the East Branch of the Saco into the forest, and signs of civilization fall behind you pretty quickly.

This loop around the twin peaks of Doublehead starts on the outskirts of Jackson and heads into the wilderness on a combination of pavement, graded dirt, double-track, and single-track trails, climbing for much of the way, with the undeveloped wooded slopes of the White Mountain National Forest as your backdrop. This ride is one good way to get the blare of the Mount Washington Valley out of your ears for a few hours, before rejoining civilization again."
