Black Mountain Trail

Black Mountain Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Black Mountain is a rocky pyramid at the end of a long ridge called The Hogsback. It is little known outside of the Upper Connecticut River Valley, perhaps because it is not a high peak, but it is a favorite among locals. Expect to see a number of people with dogs on the trail, particularly on weekends."

I really nice hike condensed in an afternoon, nice views! Also the right length for a dog with short legs. : )

Trail was awesome. The caveat to this trail is if you go off to the left there are old kilns from the 1800s. The view is great even with the low elevation, and Mount Moosilauke is awesome looking from the top!
