Wild River Wilderness

Wild River Wilderness Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This Wilderness protects a broad watershed in the eastern White Mountain National Forest. Hemmed by the Carter and Baldface ranges, it is the second largest roadless area in New England and is much less traveled than most other areas in the Whites.

Forest cloaks much of the wilderness, sheltering abundant wildlife and crystalline waterways. Great stands of paper birches dot the woods. View-rich mountains rise above it all."
