Pine Mountain and The Ledges Trail

Pine Mountain and The Ledges Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Pine Mountain rises from the northern tip of the Presidential Range. While not as well-known as its famous neighbors, this 2400-foot peak features a number of open ledges affording hikers commanding views of the Presidentials, including Mounts Madison and Washington, as well as views across to Carter Notch.

One ledge can even accommodate a row of sleeping bags for an overnight adventure. The summit and the ledges can be reached either by a brief, albeit steep, hike up the western flank of the mountain or via a camp access road on a consistent, gradual incline. Families electing to take the road should watch for the occasional vehicle, respect the camp property at road’s end, and stay on marked trails."
