Mount Chocorua and the Three Sisters Trail

Mount Chocorua and the Three Sisters Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Chocorua is one of New Hampshire’s most hiked, most known, and most easily recognizable mountains. Standing prominently in the southeast corner of the White Mountains, its pointy, rocky summit appears to change shape depending on one’s location, yet remains alluring from all perspectives.

There are many different trails that lead to the peak’s sweeping views; the most scenic, and conveniently less-traveled option traverses Carter Ledge and journeys over the wide-open knobs known as the Three Sisters. With panoramic views throughout the day, this hike is one you will remember for years to come."

This is a steep hike through a beautiful pine forest. There are lots of rocky areas and rock scrambling and in some places you may be nervous if you don't like heights or climbing. The views from the top are incredible and you can see all around. It's a tough one but well worth doing.

The only way this trail could have been better is if a bald eagle randomly landed on my shoulder while I was standing on the summit. The climb up was a lot of fun. However, if you’re scared of heights it might be a little outside your comfort level. Once you reach the first peak the views are incredible all the way to the top of Chocorua. The summit itself is also great. The way back down is somewhat uneventful until you get to a brook that is also pretty cool to check out. From that point you are pretty much done. All said and done, this is my new favorite hike.
