Mount Israel Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Delightfully located between New Hampshire’s sparkling, azure Lakes Region and the verdant, southern flank of the White Mountains, Mount Israel is a perfect half-day adventure for the whole family. The Wentworth Trail provides the most direct access to the open summit ledges. Meandering up the mountain’s slopes, the route combines steady climbs with more relaxing grades. Through ever-changing forest canopies and around oddly shaped rocks, the journey to the top is only surpassed by the impressive panorama enjoyed while there."

"A ledgy, open summit with great views of the Sandwich Range. The magical Beede Falls nearby offer hours of swimming, sliding, and stream exploration. This hidden gem of a hike starts at the Mead Conservation Center, operated by the Squam Lakes Association. Wentworth Trail is 4.2 miles out-and-back and is moderately steep, but the rewards at the top are sure to brighten the spirits of your youngest hikers. This trip can be done in a day, but also makes an ideal camping destination. Camp at the Mead Conservation Center campsites at the trailhead (visit the center’s website to make reservations) and spend a whole day on Mount Israel, and another day at Beede Falls. Everything is within walking distance of your campsite!" Read more

This is a beautiful trail. Watchout though because some of the sections are quite steep! Not anything to bad, but still steep. Be sure to thouroughly enjoy the view at the top. When my party went it took us 3 hours up and 1 1/2 hours down.
