Located in a modest state recreation area on the site of a former fish hatchery, this is a spot where Nebraskans have been coming for country outings for more than one hundred years. The hike climbs steep hills and offers a quick peek of the Platte River near the end of the hike. Trees and plants along the trail are extensively cataloged in a brochure available at the aquarium next to the recreation area.
