Hobby Park Professional Review and Guide
"This trail has got it all: huge berms, rock gardens, streams, big logs, pyramids, a serious drop through a rock and log-infested erosion gully, and a climb that gives you the option of lung-busting or heart-breaking fun. It’s Disneyland for the two-wheeled set—not a trail for first-timers or for anyone who really hates falling. This trail will test your technical skills (and courage) from all angles. Beginners will be scared—often. Intermediates will probably crash—often. Advanced folks can pound through it for an experience like riding a jackhammer. Tread: All singletrack (except for final run up the paved derby track); mostly hard-pack with some sand and loose surface."

I am a "restarting" rider after a long layoff (decades) and have been to Supertree in Uwharrie and Anne Springs Greenway in Fort Mill, SC a number of times. I thought I was in pretty good shape before tackling this trail. I was wrong. Very little flat running with good sized downhill runs that have you weaving in between trees and over root bundles at times. Uphills are long and somewhat steep but the payoff is great. Stay alert for fast downhill switchbacks. One in particular about 1/2 way through puts you atop and irregular rock "stair" that can send you over the handlebars. Single track is narrow and leaves little room for error. I'll be back, but in better condition next time.
Best single track around here! Had so much fun on the almost vertical berms and near the end, beautiful yellow leaves covered the ground as well! This trail rocks for me and it kicked my butt!!!!
This is the BEST trail I've ridden so far! Three cheers to the many people who build and maintain this trail! Hobby Park is built on top of a *steep* hill; the trail snakes back and forth, up and down through the woods along the face of this hill. This is a fast and attractive trail that can be very enjoyable, but there are at least two places that will eat up a novice and spit him out! The other reviews of this trail are right on the money!
I found Hobby Park to be challenging. All single track. Many hills, narrow trails. Strenuous. Overall, very good.
good track for racing as the trail is very wide. the surface is well groomed with a nice base. the trails itself is quite fast as a result. if you're in the area hit these trails.
