Whittier Loop

Whittier Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Almost every Wednesday evening in the summertime you'll find a number of local riders out on the Whittier Loop for their weekly training ride. They've chosen this route because of its long flat stretches which are good for spinning and because there are no major climbs to break up the group. But it's not just a good training ride, it's a good ride, period.

You'll cruise alongside the Tuckaseegee River and through lovely rolling farmland laced with white fences. You'll also ride right through the small village of Whittier. Points of interest: Tuckaseegee River; rolling farmland and mountain views; Cherokee Indian Reservation is very nearby, although riding into downtown Cherokee during tourist season is not recommended."
