Eagle Trail Professional Review and Guide
"This hike starts at Durham’s historic West Point on the Eno Park, then heads up the Eno River where you meander along a scenic corridor to Guess Road. From there backtrack a bit and climb into hills, briefly visiting a neighborhood before dropping back to the river, completing a loop. The final part of the hike backtracks to West Point on the Eno, where you can explore the assemblage of historic buildings. This hike traverses the lesser-visited north side of West Point on the Eno Park along the Eno River. In fact, many people do not even know trails exist on the north bank of the Eno River—except those who live in the neighborhoods nearby, where trails link the neighborhoods to West Point on the Eno Park. This trek utilizes not only the riverside Eagle Trail—named for the Eagle Scouts who constructed it—but also some of these trails linking to the neighborhoods to make a loop hike."
