Great Smoky Mountains National Park-Cataloochee Campground

Great Smoky Mountains National Park-Cataloochee Campground Professional Review and Guide

"The most important thing to know about the Cataloochee Campground is that you must make a reservation ahead of time. There are no first-come, first-served campsites whatsoever in the Cataloochee area. What makes this even more important to know is that Cataloochee is very remote. There is no cell phone service that deep within the park.

Miles of hiking trails and bridle trails grace the area, and the campground itself is home to the headwaters of the Cataloochee River, which flows right by. Pets are allowed in the campgrounds but are not permitted on any of the trails within the park.

This guide also covers Cataloochee Horse Camp - approximately 0.5 mile past the Cataloochee Campground."
