Yates Place Campground

Yates Place Campground Professional Review and Guide

"If you’re looking to explore the Uwharrie National Forest but want a low-cost alternative, Yates Place has seven primitive campsites where you can camp for free. You get the typical picnic table, lantern holder, and fire ring, but there’s no running water on site. For the
price, it’s not a bad option.

The campground is surrounded by wooded, rolling hill terrain. There’s easy access to the Uwharrie Trail; stretching 20 miles, it’s the only National Recreation Trail in the Uwharrie National Forest. If you prefer your recreation on two wheels, the trailhead for the Wood Run Mountain Bike Trail is just a few miles away."
