"Looking for a fun family hike that is rewarding but not too long? Near the town of Troy you can make this Uwharrie National Forest circuit hike. The adventure starts behind the national forest ranger station and descends to Densons Creek and its tributary Spencer Branch.

Wind among quartz- bordered woods and a wildflower-studded streambed. Enjoy stream views from a bluff before climbing past a homesite. Since the hike starts at the ranger station, you can use the opportunity to learn about more recreation opportunities in this asset, easily accessible to Charlotte residents."
