Uwharrie Hunt Camp

Uwharrie Hunt Camp Professional Review and Guide

"In this tent-only, primitive campground, perfectly manicured campsites sit on a hillside, with a drainage/dry creekbed running through the middle. Even though the sites are very close to one another, the fact that they are built on a hillside rather than on level ground adds to the appeal.

The downside: The campground is right off SR 1153, so all the traffic entering the forest from this route, or heading to the small community of Uwharrie, will be passing by. The upside: You are within easy reach of miles and miles of trails. No matter what you are searching for—hiking, mountain biking, bridle, or OHV trail—you can easily access it from the Uwharrie Hunt Camp."
