Densons Creek Nature Trail — Uwharrie National Forest

Densons Creek Nature Trail — Uwharrie National Forest Professional Review and Guide

"The Densons Creek Nature Trail is one of the shorter, easier trails in the Uwharrie National Forest, which sits in the central Piedmont region of North Carolina about an hour east of Charlotte.

This 53,000-acre forest is the smallest of the state’s four national forests, but its lakes, rivers, and shaded trails offer a great recreational outlet close to the more urban areas of North Carolina. The trail offers a great, wooded way to stretch your dog’s legs if you are traveling across the state, as well as an education in nature studies for the people on the trip."

Located behind the ranger station of the Uwharrie National Forest, I didn't expect much but was amazed at what I found. Great hike through an older pine forest and then you reach the Creek. What a great place to hang out at, climb and enjoy nature. Certainly not a strenuous hike but great for a day with the family, especially if you have little ones.
