South Yadkin River

South Yadkin River Professional Review and Guide

"The South Yadkin River gathers water from the southern part of the Brushy Mountains above Taylorsville. It flows generally southeast through rolling farmland and joins its bigger sibling, the Yadkin River, north of Salisbury.

One of the few towns the South Yadkin flows through is Cooleemee, where there is a dam. Public access to the river will be provided by a park being developed near the dam. There are many downed trees in the river, especially above Section 1. This eTrail contains 6 sections of the South Yadkin River from Church Lake Road (Iredell Co. 2156) bridge to Hannah Ferry Road (Rowan Co. 1926) Pump Station access."
