The Fisher River watershed begins at an elevation above 2,500 feet on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains, near where the Blue Ridge Parkway enters Virginia. It flows southeast, takes a more southerly course near Dobson, and joins the Yadkin River, 10 miles east of Elkin. This eTrail contains 3 sections of the Fisher River from Old NC 601 (Surry Co. 2258) bridge to Rockford Road (Surry Co. 2221) access on the Yadkin River.
