Lake Trail

Lake Trail Professional Review and Guide

"As the name suggests, the Lake Trail circles the park’s 11-acre lake. The dogs can play near the shore early on, but beyond 0.3 mile this becomes a wooded forest hike rather than a waterfront walk. While you’re here, take advantage of the campground, where you’ll find wooded and well-spaced sites. The park also has a fabulous swimming beach and boat rentals open seasonally.

Cliff s of the Neuse State Park is not only popular for its namesake, the Neuse River, but also for the large lake that offers a multitude of recreational activities. A sandy beach and diving platform enhance the swimming area, and there’s a boathouse where you can rent canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle-boarding."
