Pottery County Cruise

Pottery County Cruise Professional Review and Guide

"As the name implies, the Pottery Country Cruise takes you 35.5 miles along the back roads of Moore County where a community of potters has lived and worked since the 1700s.

Beginning at Jugtown Pottery with its weathered wooden buildings and pottery display, the route travels east, parallel to the county line for about 10 miles, before it turns south and then southwest to the town of Robbins. This town, at about the halfway point, offers a few restaurants and a good resting spot. From Robbins the route goes west and then turns north to return to Jugtown Pottery."

We took this ride on a Sunday morning. There was very little traffic. The ride was very pretty. This is not for the novice. The hills can be a little steep at the top. Plan on plenty of water and carry snacks with you. The food in Robbins is not really what you want to eat half way through your trek. Stop in by car when you are finished. You really do not go by that many of the pottery shops on your ride. If you are interested in shopping note that very few shops are open on Sunday and about 1/3 are not open on Monday.
