Devil's Ridge Professional Review and Guide
"The operators of Devil’s Ridge have spent a lot of time building and polishing this trail, and it really shows. The berms and bridges are solid, the signage is excellent, and the trail always seems freshly raked with little or no debris or litter. You can crank through this entire course and never catch so much as a stick in your wheel. It’s smooth, fast, and not too technical—a perfect spot for introducing new riders or practicing for the next race.
Beware that this place can be a serious mudfest after a rain, and a puddle that looks 2 inches deep can swallow you and your bike whole. Note that two separate courses share the woods here: the mountain bike course and a motorcycle hare scramble course, which do not share any tracks, though they do cross numerous times. The scramble course is much deeper and wider and has obviously been dug by motorcycles. While this place can seem like a bit of a maze, the two courses generally cross at 90-degree angles, so when in doubt, go straight and keep following the orange arrows. If you’re supposed to turn, it’s clearly marked. The owners ask that bike riders stay completely off the motocross course located up top. Tread: Clean, hard-packed singletrack."
