Hagen-Stone Park: Chatfield Trail Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Chatfield Trail loops around the entirety of Hagan- Stone Park. It begins as a lakeside singletrack path then travels along a babbling stream before making higher ground. It descends to cross one more stream before surmounting hills and returning to the trailhead. The natural environments range from pine thickets to hardwood bottoms to open meadows.
Hagan-Stone Park is located south of Greensboro in the town of Pleasant Garden. The 409-acre park was established in 1964, and the diverse facility offers hiking, camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing, and environmental education. The park is home to playgrounds, ball fields, and more. Park trails, including the Chatfield Trail, are used for cross-country running meets. You will note signs on your hike indicating directions for the 5K and 8K races. The park is also home to the Oak Grove Schoolhouse."
