Robbinsville Loop

Robbinsville Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Starting from the Nantahala Outdoor Center Bike Shop and ending through the beautiful Nantahala Gorge, this ride takes you through some incredible countryside. The route is best known for its long climbs and harrowing experiences near Robbinsville, the community that gives it its name.

It seems everyone who has done this ride several times or more can recall being honked at or yelled at, has had a close encounter with a semi, or some worse experience near its infamous namesake. Nevertheless, it's a great ride, complete with astounding views, torturous climbs and exhilarating descents. Points of interest: Nantahala Gorge whitewater rafting; Stecoah Gap Appalachian Trail crossing; some really neat barns."
