Cape Hatteras National Seashore-Oregon Inlet Campground

Cape Hatteras National Seashore-Oregon Inlet Campground Professional Review and Guide

"Oregon Inlet Campground lies at the northern end of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The campground itself is so-so. The campsites sit on the west side of the sand dunes, so you can’t see the ocean, and there’s little tree cover or brush. Don’t expect too much privacy, and be prepared for the heat during the summer months.

Oregon Inlet is all about location. Head south to Pea Island and you can see herds of deer grazing along the dunes or spy the remains of the Oriental shipwreck. As you head north the Bodie Lighthouse is just a few miles away, or you can continue up the coast to Jockey’s Ridge State Park."
