Wilson Ridge - Schoolhouse Ridge Loop

Wilson Ridge - Schoolhouse Ridge Loop Professional Review and Guide

"This is a true Jekyll and Hyde ride. Wilson Ridge is a cultured sort of trail, a smooth, dirt-faced roller coaster for most of its length, with whoops and jumps to delight even the most jaded bike pilot; the locals lovingly refer to this section of trail as 21 Jumps. Schoolhouse Ridge, however, is its homicidal, crackhead cousin.

Blind turns through the mountain laurel suddenly drop you into 4-foot erosion gullies, ravines, and packs of sick root drops that would like nothing more than to break your bones. It’s a sadistic piece of riding. Put the two together, and you’ve got something to alternately delight and terrify just about anyone. Tread: 8.3 miles of singletrack; 5.3 miles of gravel road."
