Wolf Laurel Ski Area Professional Review and Guide
"Just over the eastern tip of Tennessee and directly off the Appalachian Trail lies Wolf Laurel—a mom-and-pop ski area serving nearby Asheville; Knoxville, Tennessee; and surrounding locales. The newest of Carolina’s ski resorts, “The Wolf” has a prevailing free-for-all atmosphere. A small network of 13 slopes and trails is great for families and beginning skiers, and its 700-foot vertical drop isn’t altogether shabby for southern standards.
For all its charm, friendly staff, and affordable prices, the resort can occasionally suffer from a tight base and loading area. A quad and double chair lift run skiers efficiently to two mid-stations and summit areas, and expect slow-moving traffic on the narrow run to the base. All slopes are equipped for night skiing, with some areas dimly lit. This eTrail contains a thorough description of the resort including driving directions, mountain statistics, trail profiles, extensive lodging & dining information, travel tips, and much more."
