Buck Creek has its headwaters in the Mount Mitchell Wildlife Management Area below the Blue Ridge Parkway. It flows along NC 80 into Lake Tahoma. Above the lake it is a small, fast-dropping stream, whereas below it flattens out somewhat, flowing over small ledges and rocks. Property above the lake is posted as well as patrolled. Don’t be tempted.
