Great Smoky Mountains National Park-Balsam Mountain Campground

Great Smoky Mountains National Park-Balsam Mountain Campground Professional Review and Guide

"Sitting high on a spur, Balsam Mountain affords amazing long-range mountain views from just about anywhere within this small but wonderful campground. The views are just a taste of why this is one of my favorite places to camp. The sites offer lots of privacy and the bathrooms are clean, as is the drinking water.

There’s wildlife galore. The dedicated tent camping area has bear-proof food containers, you may see some wild turkey, and the elk population is growing at a healthy rate. Although it’s well off the beaten path, if you’re in the Maggie Valley area and looking for a place to camp, this is it!"
