Woods Mountain Professional Review and Guide
"It starts with an 11-mile climb. No breaks. Just straight up. Over two thousand feet of vertical change. Singletrack for advanced riders only. For those who are looking for a classic mountain bike adventure, it won't get any better than a day spent tackling these steep climbs and descents. The westernmost portion of the trail comes within five miles of Mount Mitchell, the eastern United State's highest point at 6,684 feet above sea level; you will get a good look at it. The trail cuts through a wild section of forest where you're liable to see almost anything that has legs. Using an old roadbed in places, the trail also incorporates a long piece of the Mountain to the Sea Trail, a singletrack of truly epic proportions. No skidding."
